Kind Heart Counseling’s Operation during COVID-19

As an essential business, Kind Heart Counseling continues to operate during the COVID-19 pandemic and can offer limited in-person appointments with precautions all parties must agree to follow.  As guidelines change over time, modifications to operations will continue to be in place and may be adjusted in order to minimize exposure risk and provide safe access to therapy.

 

Precautions I am taking:

  • Sanitizing the office space and toys/materials in between each session

  • Washing my hands thoroughly and frequently

  • Wearing a mask

  • Limiting toys and items in the office

  • Scheduling appointments with time in between for cleaning and to reduce number of people in the office

  • Maintaining a 6-feet distance between myself and clients

  • I will not schedule an in-person appointment if I am feeling unwell

  • Offering telehealth sessions when appropriate

 

Precautions you are asked to take:

  • Limit those who attend session with you to only the necessary family members

  • Wear a mask unless you have a documented health condition that prevents this

  • Come into the building close to your appointment time to reduce time spent in the office

  • If you or your child are feeling unwell, please contact me ahead of time to reschedule your appointment; if possible, we can schedule a telehealth appointment

  • Remind your child about precautions such as social distancing and thorough hand-washing

 

Telehealth Appointments

I offer appointments via telehealth for current and new clients.  In order to engage in telehealth, you will need an internet connection, personal device with camera and microphone (laptop, tablet, or smart phone), and a private space in which you can safely engage in session.  Depending on the specifics of our work and/or the age and developmental level of your child, telehealth may not be suitable.  Attendance and payment expectations for telehealth appointments are the same as for in-person sessions, including charging a cancellation fee for a no-show telehealth appointment.  Please confirm with your insurance provider that mental health counseling conducted via telehealth is covered.
