Kind Heart Counseling’s Operation during COVID-19

Update to COVID-19 office policies as of July 5th 2021.  Kind Heart Counseling continues to offer both teleheatlh and in-office sessions with precautions guided by the CDC and Washington state recommendations for pandemic safety.  Please review the updated policies and the ongoing protocols for in-office appointments below.

UPDATED POLICIES:

  • If you are fully vaccinated (defined as waiting two weeks until after your second dose of Moderna/Pfizer vaccine or two weeks after your only dose of Johnson and Johnson vaccine), then you may choose to not wear a mask during session with proof of vaccination.

  • All clients not fully vaccinated or who decline to demonstrate proof of vaccination are required to continue wearing masks during session and I will also wear my mask.

  • I am fully vaccinated and may choose not to wear a mask when meeting with fully vaccinated clients.  You may ask me to wear a mask and am happy to.

Precautions I am taking:

  • Sanitizing the office space and toys/materials in between each session

  • Washing my hands thoroughly and frequently

  • Wearing a mask (see above update)

  • Limiting toys and items in the office

  • Scheduling appointments with time in between for cleaning and to reduce number of people in the office

  • Maintaining a 6-feet distance between myself and clients

  • I will not schedule an in-person appointment if I am feeling unwell

  • Offering telehealth sessions when appropriate

Precautions you are asked to take:

  • Limit those who attend session with you to only the necessary family members

  • Wear a mask unless you are fully vaccinated or have a health condition that prevents it

  • Come into the building close to your appointment time to minimize time spent in the waiting area

  • If you or your child are feeling unwell, please contact me ahead of time to reschedule your appointment; if possible, we can schedule a telehealth appointment

  • Wash or sanitize your hands immediately prior to or upon arrival

  • Remind your child about precautions such as social distancing and thorough hand-washing

Telehealth Appointments

I offer appointments via telehealth for current and new clients.  In order to engage in telehealth, you will need an internet connection, personal device with camera and microphone (laptop, tablet, or smart phone), and a private space in which you can safely engage in session.  Depending on the specifics of our work and/or the age and developmental level of your child, telehealth may not be suitable.  Attendance and payment expectations for telehealth appointments are the same as for in-person sessions, including charging a cancellation fee for a no-show telehealth appointment.  Please confirm with your insurance provider that mental health counseling conducted via telehealth is covered.

Please contact me if you have questions about telehealth or COVID-19 precautions.  It is my goal to continue connecting with you and providing supportive, holistic, and kind therapy services at this time.
